Wet on Wet Watercolor

Wet on Wet Watercolor

Wet on Wet is a watercolour painting technique. With the wet-on-wet technique, we can create ethereal and dreamy textures. This technique is unique to watercolour and it creates that Beautiful and light effect we see in famous watercolour paintings from Turner. This technique requires us to wet the paper before applying a touch of colour.

1. Lay down a layer of clean water

The more water you use, the more the paint will spread.

2.Then, drop some colour on one side.
I chose Indian Yellow by Winsor and Newton.

3.Drop a second colour on the other side.
I chose Cerulean Blue as my second pigment.

4. You will start to notice that the colour in the middle will change.
Mine is changing into a muted green.
